Sharon has always worked with textiles and fashion even whilst studying for her law degree. Over the last six years Sharon has studied textiles and millinery, the latter with Peter Kingston Youel, couture milliner at Leeds College of Art. In 2001 Sharon reached the final stages of the Musee du Chapeau's International Competition, from this she was invited to exhibit in their Artistes du Laine Exhibition in Lyon. In 2002 Sharon won the Young's Ascot Hat competition, to promote fish consumption. The Salmon Sensation was seen on local and national television, and featured in a variety of newspapers, Financial Times, The Sun, Sunday Times. Summer 2002 saw Sharon reaching the finals of the Hat Designer of the Year. The hats were exhibited at Pure, Olympia to great acclaim, she received the Aquascutum Prize.
