The process of commissioning a hat is interactive, allowing you the client to be involved in the designing process.

1. Please phone or email Millinery By Design to arrange an initial meeting. Here your ideas can be thoroughly discussed and you can try on shapes to assess the best design for you.

2. Design ideas will be discussed, when you are happy with your choice and the cost is agreed, the hat can begin. At this point a deposit will be requested so that work can proceed.

3. A second meeting or fitting to assess if the basic hat structure is comfortable and for any final decisions on the trim for the hat. Changes can be made at this stage if needed.

4. The final meeting to try on and take away your finished Millinery By Design creation.

The whole process is entirely flexible to best meet your needs. However several weeks are normally needed to create the hat for you. Ideally 4-6 weeks notice would be preferred especially at busy times of year. Prices vary according to materials used and the amount of time taken. The price range is between £50 -£300
